Future of Swidget devices

Does anyone have an info on Swidget? I have one I've never installed because I've been waiting for the Z-Wave driver. Just went onto their website and it looks like
a. they are still sold out of their timer switch (that's been the case for over 8 months now)
b. They don't have any Z wave modules available
c. Their wifi modules look like they need some sort of subscription

Are they abandoning Zwave? They said Zigbee was coming yet I see none of that. And I certainly don't have any interest in a wifi switch that needs a subscription. This seemed like a product with awesome possibilities. Has it fizzled out?

What are you waiting for? There are Swidget Zwave drivers built into Hubitat.

What configuration do you have on the one you have? I got one working for someone else using my "MCP" plug driver. I think theirs was a dual outlet with power monitoring.

I've got the 20/40/60 Control (Timer) Switch, with the Zwave temp/humidity/motion insert.

Hi there. I work for Swidget and can answer your questions.
a. This is a very popular product that is typically used with ventilation fans. We are hoping to have some stock available in the next few weeks.
b. All of our z-wave Inserts are in stock, albeit currently in limited supply. We expect to buff that up soon.
c. You do not need a subscription for our wifi modules. They can be used with the Swidget app, or locally using Home Assistant (and other systems too).

We are not abandoning Z-Wave. We did develop Zigbee version but have not commercialized them, nor do we have any plans of doing so in the near future, unfortunately.

Thanks very much for your interest!

Sorry I meant to reply to this when you posted.

That's definitely a more unique combination. In Hubitat the normal way to do it would be a parent device with all the settings and then a child for each endpoint. So switch would be one child and the sensor would be a second child device. I dont think the timer aspect would be anything special for z-wave, it probably presents as a normal switch. The other part I think there is an omni sensor component driver built in. So that would not be bad.

I think my approach to making a driver for it would be to use my universal scanner as a base for the parent, so it could scan and present all the settings. From there it would need a way to determine what each endpoint is for, could be a dropdown setting or could probe the device and find out by code. Then you create the child devices from that. Then you need handlers for the switch and multisensor events, which you pass over to the child devices.

Not that I really have time to make a such a driver at the moment, but that would be my plan. Unless Swidget wants to hire me to make it.

Hey Jeremy,

I was a very early adopter several years ago. I have 6 outlets with the series 5 z-wave / light combo insert. I see a lot of your new combo inserts are WiFi... Are there plans to create series 8 z-wave combo devices such as the one with the light like I have now? I would love to upgrade them, but I actually bought them for both the z-wave control and the light feature so I'm hesitant to replace them with just newer z-wave... admittedly, I'm also hesitant to upgrade due to the price... There should be a early customer rewards program lol....

Thank you so much for the response!! Much appreciated.
a. Good to know. I'll be on the lookout for the timer switch.
b. Based on your response, I dug deeper. When I go to your website and click on an insert or a regular switch, the option to order is grayed out. HOWEVER, when I then filter the product list by in stock items, and go to the exact same item after the filter, I see that I can order. I had initially done the former only and concluded nothing was available; I would not have known to further pursue this without your post here, so thank you for that.
c. Thank you for the clarification. Somewhere on your website there is a graphic (can't find it now) about a subscription, which is what had me confused...

Again, thank you so much for posting. The Swidget seems like an AWESOME product, so I really really really want you guys to succeed.

New question: Any estimate on when we might have a Hubitat driver for the motion/temp/humidity zwave module?

Hi there. As you likely know, we have 4 new(ish) Z-Wave Inserts: Air Quality, Temperature, Humidity, and Motion, USB Charger, and Control. We do not currently have plans to make Guide Lights or Power Out Lights.

Please reach out to support@swidget.com with your name and we will be able to provide a discount code. Thanks for being an early adopter!

Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback about the website. I will pass along that strange behaviour.

We do have a subscription for a vacant property monitoring service but that is more of a commercial application. Sorry for the confusion.

There should be a Hubitat driver for that product. Unfortunately, we are not the developers so we are dependent upon Hubitat to facilitate. All the best!

@calinatl I had not actually looked, but I am guessing this is the driver you would need:
