Fun Device to Automate 12V Stuff

I came across this 12V remote on Amazon for only $8.50...

My use for it is for camping, where I run a variety of stuff from 12V batteries and portable solar panels. I tested it with some dimmable 12v puck lights and a 12v Fan, in both cases it worked as advertised to dim and brighten lights, and to change fan speed, and turn them on/off. Nice that it comes with two remotes with batteries already in them.

They have 14 dim/speed levels by pressing up/down, and the lowest setting is very low. Just a faint glow from the lights, and the fan would stop on 1, and only slowly turn on 2. If you hold the up/down buttons the level slowly fades, so you can really choose any level, since you can stop the fade at any point by releasing the button.

It also has a quick fade-in and fade-out when using the power button, instead of instant on/off, which is good for the fan so it does not jolt on, and a nice effect for the lights.

Of course, I had to try adding it to Hubitat. My Broadlink RM Pro with the local driver was able to learn the RF codes no problem, so I can now also control it with Hubitat, but I'm not sure I have a use for that... Maybe I will find one.

It could also be used in cars and boats, since it is 12V. It is just a cool device I found before our upcoming two week camping trip this year, to bring a bit of convenience to the woods.
