I have a GoControl window sensor that I've had installed for years. The battery died and I never got around to replacing it because it was on a window that was never opened and I just forgot about it. Today I decided to replace the battery and afterwards I realized the device was unresponsive. I figured I would exclude / include the device all over again. Well, the exclude process works but when I attempt to include the device I get the "Found a Z-Wave device, initializing..." error and the inclusion process times out. At that point I get another generic error about having some trouble or whatever. If I go into Z-Wave settings I see the device node with no name or route and there is a "discover" button in the device column. That button doesn't appear to do anything. I have tried removing the device, shutting down the hub, removing power from the hub, and waiting several minutes before powering it back up. No matter what the outcome is the same.
Should I give up on this device or is there something else I can try that I'm overlooking?
Edit: I tried excluding another device and then including it. It's doing the exact same thing as the other device AND the issue persists through a shutdown of the hub. I guess this piece of junk finally gave up. I suppose it's time to find another platform.
