For the first time in a year, my hub needed rebooting

Not a big deal as 1nce in a year isn’t bad. Only problem is it was in the basement and I’m in a wheelchair. It took me over an hour. Any clever solution to this? A wifi smart plug, or just scheduled reboot every week or so should avoid this?

You shouldn’t need to pull the plug on it. Only do this if you cannot restart it gracefully either via web UI or ip-address:8081. If neither of those are available then yes you may need to pull the plug. Obviously you would need something that is accessible outside of HE like Wi-Fi plugs.
