First Alert Zcombo Detector - False Alarms Recently

In the past two weeks including twice this morning (while wife was home) I have gotten false alarms on my first alert zcombo detector. App and device logs just say smoke/co2 detected. I have changed out with new batteries both times. Anyone seen this? Any help appreciated.

I had this issue with 1 of mine. sprayed compressed air into it to clean the sensors before replacing the batteries.

hasn't happened since. I did notice these don't like some brands/specs of rechargeable batteries.. debating on going back to reg disposable batteries for these detectors when I need to change them next.

Yeah unfortunately false alarms are very common with these units if you read reviews across the internet. So much so I decided to avoid them and instead installed a Z-wave smoke/Co2 listener combined with the standard detectors in my house.

But yes, the only recourse is try and blow out any dust in the sensors that could be triggering the false alarms. That or contact First Alert and see if they will replace the unit under warranty. I've heard people have good luck with that.
