Morning. I currently have several zigbee devices, and I have just recently noticed that there is a firmware update button. Does this work, and if so, how do you know it did anything? Sorry for the stupid question, but just curious.
Thanks
Rory
it works for a limited set of devices that we have firmware images for.
if you open the live logs then select the updateFirmware command update status will be shown in the logs.
Thank you. I am using eWeLink devices.
Will try that
Mine has always failed for a few device types that are supported in HE. Just haven't gotten around to addressing it.
The water supply valve is by Dome
The sirens are neo cool cam/dome
The trisensors are Aeotec
What other information can I give you to report/correct the problem?
zigbee and zwave updates work differently.
the zigbee updates are initiated from the driver, and all firmware files are hosted by Hubitat.
the z-wave updates are handled using the device firmware updater application and the user must supply the firmware image.
That is a very large distinction. Is that obviously spelled out somewhere that I shouldn't have missed?
*note: I am newer to the more advanced mechanics of zigbee and zwave. Until now it has just been "make it work".
Thank you for the clarification.
