Trying to move to EZ Dashboards, but either I'm doing something wrong, or EZD does not yet support all the Bond Bridge device drivers. Can someone who understands this advise either what I can do to correct it or when the drivers are expected to support EZD?
The Bond integration itself is still in need of attention to get it fully developed and functional, and these issues may be a result of that. I'm using both the official Hubitat Bond Integration and the Community Bond Integration, since each has things the other can't do:
-
Bond Ceiling fan paired to Hubitat via the official Hubitat Bond integration. This fan does NOT go through the Bond hub - the ceiling fan itself has integral Bond software, such that it can pair directly to the official Hubitat Bond integration. The parent device uses the Bond Bridge 2 driver. In this configuration, the child device drivers are not editable - the fan uses the Bond Fan driver and the light uses the Generic Component Dimmer driver.
In EZ Dashboard, the light icon shows up and is controllable, but the fan icon looks like this:
-
Bond Shades paired to Hubitat via the community integration. These go through the Bond hub. The driver for these devices is BOND Motorized Shade. The Current States information in Hubitat for the driver include Switch (on/off) and Window Shade (closed/open). The icon for these is similar to the above fan icon - red with a frown.
Different but related topic: I'll make another plug to change the shade status from closed/open to down/up, or to add a toggle to the driver allowing the user to reverse these. Those of us with TDBU shades have TWO rails. The only way I'm aware of to handle this is to make a Hubitat device for each rail. When both rails are down the shade is open, when both rails are up the shade is open. It is only closed when the top rail is up and the bottom rail is down...since my bottom rail typically stays put, I only use the top rail device in dashboards, and even on the classic dashboard, when the top rail is down, HE thinks it is closed and uses the closed icon, when in fact it is open.
