I guess this should go under Novice although I have been using a Hubitat since the C-7 days.
My Hub: C-8 non-Pro
Setting the Table: I managed to "brick' my C-8 recently; not really sure how. I ran an update and my hub froze at 25% of the re-start. Just... stuck. I learned to get in via 192.168.50.101:8081 and tried several things before backing off to a previous version and starting everything all over again. I got all my devices re-loaded and even added a few. All are working, and the Rules I wrote are working perfectly. I also have the right latitude and longitude, the right ZIP code, and all the rest.
The Problems: There are several.
1) iPad App: Not working. It is finding a few of the devices I had in use ages ago and before the bricking incident. For the life of me I can't get it to show the present devices.
2) HomeKit Bridge Not Working Like it Did Before: Before the bricking incident, things like my Inovelli fan controllers and Inovelli wall dimmers (all are blue series) just went into place and worked. Now, the fan controllers show as No Response and the wall dimmers - although checked in HomeKit Bridge - don't show at all.
Did I blow things up to the point I should just get a whole new hub - a virgin as it were - and start all over again?
None of this seems at all logical.
Any help you can give me short of buying a Homey and trying it again (THAT had its own set of frustrations and I returned it!), or the steep learning curve of Home Assistant is welcome.
Thanks.
What does that mean exactly?
Previous version of your data? Previous Platform Version? And then what does "starting everything" mean?
My expectation of what I'd do is:
Diagnostic menu: (at 192.168.50.101:8081, which you did) and perform a soft reset. That should boot to the most recent Platform version your hub has. If you need to go backwards on Platform, ok, but do that ONLY so that the hub is almost factory fresh.
Then do an upgrade to the Platform that matches your latest personal backup of the hub.
You should be able to go from menu item to menu item briskly because the hub appears Empty. You can go to Settings and check on updating the Platform. (Since you can always roll back via the Diagnostic menu) I'd do that... all with the goal of determining an empty hub is running really well.
THEN it's time to hit Settings: backup and restore. And restore your latest backup. That should reconnect all the devices out in the radio's DB with the devices within your personal configuration.
Step at a time, is the way out of the swamp.
The whole thing except for the HomeKit problem is moot.
The way I got things back in both the iPad and the iPhone application works to delete the application from both devices reboot and then reload the app on each device. Everything is back to normal.
PS: For the Home(Kit) issue I deleted the old Home, and upon establishing a new one. I thin scanned the QR code from HomeKit Bridge, and everything showed up. I was able to reinstall everything and all is working. Note: I had the Lutron Home(Kit) integration in the old one, and find myself wondering if there was a conflict.
