I bought a number of Eva Logik switches about 3 months ago since they had 2 outlets on them. Ive now had three of them either completely fail (wont turn on/off) or become unresponsive in ways that makes me suspect the switch.
Anyone have an outside switch that they recommend? I can live with it not having multiple outlets although that would be nice.
I use GE and Eva Logik (the 2 independent outlet control ones) outdoor outlets. I haven't had any of them fail (yet. lol), so have no strong preference between the two.
I've had the GE ones outside for years with no issues. Have only had the Eva Logik for maybe 6 months, but it withstood 105F+ days in Texas this summer, so so far so good.
I have/had just a couple outdoor modules:
6 GE/Jasco Z-Wave (1 failed)
1 GE/Jasco Z-Wave Plus
1 Inovelli Dual Z-Wave Plus (discontinued, problematic, not in use)
4 Minoston Z-Wave Plus (sometimes listed as Eva Logik)
Besides the 2 (1 failure and 1 problem child) they have all held up well for upstate NY. They see heavy use at Halloween & Christmas but are mostly idle otherwise.
GE/Jasco's are just workhorses. They do the job but are pretty basic and pretty big as well. Sometimes they go on sale but most of the time I think they are overpriced.
The Inovelli was excellent and the two separately controllable outlets was handy although it was also pretty bulky. When it worked though... Had it for a few years now but in the last year it has been very problematic and difficult to get paired/stay paired. It is discontinued though, so I guess I cannot complain too much.
The Minoston's so far are excellent. Seem to behave well (I have them on a C-7) are responsive, small, yet only $25. This will be their first full Christmas and winter though so I will have to see how they are after that.
