Entergy Louisiana has currently reduced their price for the ecobee3 lite from $69 to $49. You have to be an Entergy Louisiana customer to complete the purchase. For anyone interested, here's the link:

Correct. Also, I don’t think that Entergy Louisiana customers can participate in that program. Entergy New Orleans is a separate corporation that operates under arcane conditions established by the City of New Orleans.

@Wheat .. Nice to see more people from Louisiana here, I am from Louisiana too.
I would ask our neighbors in Texas about their views on utility provided thermostats before you rush in on that offer..

True - except with Entergy (even Entergy New Orleans, it is opt-in). Purchasing the thermostat is not an automatic opt-in.
And I checked Entergy Louisiana's site. I can't find any programs like the EasyCool program offered by Entergy New Orleans.

When I purchased the ecobee, there was nothing (even in fine print) that would make me opt-in to anything be default.
I did check.
