Is there a way to emulate or play rules to see if they are working?
That way I can see if the rules are properly playing in order. This would be useful in particular for time related or state tasks.
Yes, in a way. Once you get the rule saved, exit the rule. Go back into the rule and "run actions" at the bottom of the page for that particular rule. You will probably want all logging turned on for this test.
That won't test the trigger, but it will run through the rule logic.
Edit: that will really run the rule, so don't test your smoke alarm or sirens or something!
