How can I intergrade an Emerson Sensi thermostat to the Hubitat hub?
Thanks...
Custom code would be required; however, there are problems.
About a year ago, the Sensi integration with Smart Things died. Emerson had converted to a new API server/API. This required extensive code change and Sensi did not support. The basic code exists, it just can no longer communicate with the server.
I guess I should move on to a newer thermostat.
Thanks...
There are some great Zigbee and Z-Wave in the compatible devices list. Advantage: Local processing only. You can still access using the phone app or Amazon Alexa (and Google Home) via the Hubitat integration.
Hate to dig this up, but didn't think I should start a new post. I bought an emerson Sensi a couple months ago but haven't installed it yet. Their website currently lists that it works with SmartThings, so perhaps someone updated to the new API? I am past the return window at Amazon, so I will need to keep it. Where can I get the API documentation? Couldn't find it on their site or by internet search. All I really want to get is data, not control. Would like to get runtime, temp, and humidity. Any guidance would be appreciated.
I may be wrong... Works with SmartThings means that Emerson has written a proprietary connector to SmartThings using that new API. SmartThings did this to increase their cloud-connected universe since the vendors are stingy with opening up their APIs.
I regularly check on gitHub for Sensi information; however, there have been no significant updates in over a year.

Exactly correct. I imagine that using HubConnect one can bring the thermostat into HE.
I did a check on Amazon, and it lists works with Alexa, but not with SmartThings. It is also not on the SmartThings compatible devices list and the App can not discover my Thermostat. If advertised, it may be a future intent.

PS - From the Emerson Site, just to back up original claim as TRUE.
I was wrong. SmartThings does support. I had to update my little used application.
Installed in SmartThings. Could not get it to display anything in the new App. Using the Classic App, it displays. However, NO CONROL, just temperature and humidity. If that is it, then it is kind of a worthless marketing ploy to be able to say works with SmartThings. Again, Emerson shows a reluctance to let anyone but them to be in control!
To me, not worth the effort of linking to Hubitat.
Watching for Sensi integration.
I will just use the Sensi app and Alexa for now.
I finally gave up. Installed GoControl and it works well and integrates better. But I am unnecessarily anal on controlling devices from Hubitat.

I am new to Hubitat, but why is there so much discussion about smartthings integration with Sensi when all we care about is Hubitat (HE) integration with Emerson Sensi? Who cares about Smarthings? HE Hubitat is different and independent right? Just because something does or does not work on Samsung Smarthings shouldn't drive our discussion on HE integration. I guess I understand some interest there but for me, this thread was about HE support for Sensi. I am looking for that too. Any luck getting HE to integrate with Sensi either directly or pulling Alexa device information into the devices list or dashboard?
Agreed. The reason for the SmartThings integration is that there WAS (but is no more) a SmartThings integration. Emerson cut off the integration path for a non-Emerson integration with the Sensi Thermostat. I kept looking for another integration path on GitHub; however, one was never revealed. I therefore gave up.
As a hint: A lot of the custom code on Hubitat first existed on SmartThings. I myself came over from SmartThings and initially converted the code I developed in SmartThings to Hubitat. They both use the same control model and have similar architectures. Therefore, if you could do it in SmartThings, there was generally a way to adapt it to Hubitat - but not the other way.

Welcome!
I have two Sensi thermostats that work well but I am also interested in integrating them with Hubitat.
I want to keep all of the features that come with the Sensi app but the only thing missing for me is the ability to control the thermostat with temperature sensors in other rooms.
