Eero 6+ not finding c8 hub (solved)

I had to replace my router. I went with the eero6+. Using the old network name and password, and a reboot, my c8 does not show up in the eero client list. Any Suggestions?

What color is LED on the hub?
If its solid green, it should be connected to something.

Ethernet or wifi? I use eero too, and have never had an issue adding Hubitat (or any other devoce to it), but I have only ever used ethernet for Hubitat.

What color is the light on your Hubitat?

You could try pressing the network reset button on the Hubitat - that may help.

Green light. I am connected with a cable. Cabling is the same as with old router. I did a network scan with another program and it looks like the c8 was assigned an ipv6 address.

What do you mean by Eero not finding the hub? I suspect that you just need to go into the Eero app, go to Settings -> Network Settings -> Reservations & port forwarding -> Add a reservation -> Find your Hubitat in the list. Note its IP address, add a reservation and then use the IP address it found. Eero will not "assign it an IPV6 address." It should be listed there. It just got a new IP address. And eero uses the 192.168.4.0/22 address space. Which is probably unexpected.

You can modify IPV6 support here, if that's really the problem: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005975026-Does-eero-support-IPv6

Did you have it connected via Wifi before? Otherwise not sure why you mentioned the router login stayed the same since the hub does not need to log in when connected via ethernet.

Do the network reset as suggested above. This will enable the ethernet port and reset it back to DHCP, so it should grab an IP from the router when it boots back up. If you had it on Wifi before you may need to go in and shut the Wifi off manually, the reset does not touch the Wifi settings I dont think.

It has always been wired. I discovered the eero router assigned an ipv6 address to it. I went in and disabled ipv6 and rebooted both the c8 and router hoping I would get an ipv4 address but it still has the ipv6. This stops me from accessing hub from app and web browser. Im lost.

Did you do the network reset yet???

Yes. I have an ipv4 address now and access via app and web. Thanks for all the help.

You should be able to turn IPv6 back on if you did not already. I have been running IPv6 on my lan for a while and never had any issues with Hubitat from it.
