Trying to add this motion sensor and it's not adding. The qualification that it was added to my previous smartthings hub which is now bricked (red light of death), and never had a chance to exclude it.
I ran the standard exclusion procedure through the hubitat, and pulled out battery for 5 seconds, put it back in and replaced the cover and just getting a solid green light, no red light, And it won't include either. Sucks that these devices just don't have factory rest. Any clues?
Looks like it should reset and include if you put the hub in inclusion mode and then press the button on the back of the unit.
Have you tried it again? I just moved one of these from a C-4 hub to a C-7 hub and the reset procedure worked as listed in the Hubitat document. You might try leaving the battery out a bit longer (15-20 seconds)?
Manual mentions:
Sensor inclusion mode can also be initiated by inserting a pin or paper clip into the small round hole on the back side of the sensor.
Thanks a lot guys, I wasn't even aware of the reset button on the back the documentation is terrible. But even following that it's not working. When I put the battery in, and use the reset hole on the back of both of the units I have, it just keeps going to solid green.
Tried an exclude and an include and have no idea why.
This is what causese my frustration with zwave devices, I'm thinking of just going to the old reliable hue motion sensors.
It's frustrating because it should work. The Hue's are probably faster. I have the Ecolink on a carport where lightning speed is not critical. It's been reliable and I have been able to move it without a problem.
Yeah thanks for the reassurance. Factory reset on a lot of these zigbee devices is unusual and frustrating. I'll see what happens.
