Ecobee Having API issues

Ecobee's API's have been down for a while now fixed about two minutes ago. If you are having issues with automation and your Ecobee here is the link to the status page:

Thanks.

I certainly wish we could connect directly to the Ecobee through WiFi.

Ecobee's API's are ALWAYS having issues. I see 3 to 6 log entries each day on average, with failures to connect to Ecobee for one reason or another, and I'm not even controlling the Ecobee, just displaying temps in the dashboard.

They have proven themselves incompetent at managing their services for years, but I have to blame Hubitat for this, as the interface from the Ecobee android app is usually functional.

Here are some recent log entries:

I am continuing to have issues with Ecobee. I assume that the following error means their service is down(again):

It was down for a few minutes, this is from my logs, time is in central time:

2019-09-09 07:41:52.130 pm warnpollEcobeeAPICallback() Polling error: 408, Connect to api.ecobee.com:443 [api.ecobee.com/216.220.61.235] failed: Connection timed out (Connection timed out) - Will Retry

Happens every other day for me, and on the other days, I see the connect timeout error.
I wouldn't consider using the Hubitat ecobee code to actually use the ecobee connection for anything more than display-only in a dashboard.

That's the reason why I'm looking at a zigbee or zwave thermostat.
I'm just tired of the ecobee cloud always down.

If I could find a Zigbee or Z-wave thermostat that could have as many inputs and outputs as my current Honeywell, I would switch too. Honeywell is a bit more stable than Ecobee at the moment, but not anywhere near 100% either. I don't like relying on the cloud if I don't have to.

Why don't they make multi-stage (3 or 4 stage heat and 2-3 stage cool), with dehumidify/humidify, vent damper, and other options like dry contacts for Zigbee and Z-wave stats? Granted I have the top of the line Honeywell IAQ series, but someone else has to want local control AND features too.

Heck the Zigbee and Z-wave don't even seem to look as nice as even a middle-of-the-road Honeywell, Ecobee, Nest, or whatever. And they aren't cheaper to compensate for the lack of features or looks.

If GLAS thermostats would come out with a zigbee or zwave version I would jump on it in a second, but sadly those went the wifi route as well.

FYI, Ecobee servers are DOWN AGAIN.
