That all looks good to my eye. Try enabling the last option "Convert Zone speak commands to announcements?"
Yes, converting to announcements eliminated the pop-corn effect! You did it. Now, all I have to do is pray that my wife will not complain about the "bing bong" before the announcement, which she has historically hated. Popcorn vs. bing bong. Happy wife, happy life, right?

the bing bong is setable on the alexa settings - it can be set to brief mode, changed - as I recall set to occur before or after ...
this seems to be an accepted solution - I jst tried it and it worked nicely!
"You can actually issue a command to your alexa's to turn it off then back on after - I do something like it when I turn the echos show displays off.
I don't recall the command for bing bong - but surely it's on the alexa forums.
