Echo skill built-in app + Hubitat Alexa Skill ... how do I add new devices?

The documentation for the "Alexa Skill" application describes how to install it and add devices initially, which was easy. However, I've added a few new devices to my Hubitat and dig as I might I can't get them to show up. The only way I've been able to add new devices is to unlink and then relink the Hubitat skill in my Alexa app, which seems broken. (In case it matters, I'm trying to add the Harmony Hub virtual device.)

(a) how do I add new devices with the Alexa skill?
(b) for the love of god, please start investing in updating your documentation. When you see basic questions like this, your first instinct after answering the question should be to go fix the documentation. If you see the same question multiple times, create a "FAQ" so people can find the answers easily.

This community is awesome, kinda unbelievably so, really. Still, free-text search across unstructured conversations should not be the best way to unearth basic information about a consumer device.

For the new devices, you just need to go into the Amazon Echo Skill on Hubitat and select the new devices to add them to the list. They are not added by default.

You may have to then ask Alexa to "discover devices" but my recent experience is that after adding in Hubitat, I get an alert in the Alexa app that new devices were discovered.

This is with regard to the other new devices you have added. Specifically for Harmony Hub virtual device, is that supported in the Alexa app? Any unsupported devices will be ignored.

Yes, they are simply virtual switch devices, which can easily be added to the Amazon Echo Skill application on the hub.

On the Hubitat hub, select APPS, find the installed “Amazon Echo Skill” application, open it, and add devices to your list to expose additional devices to Alexa. Make sure you finish exiting the app by clicking Done. Your new devices should immediately be found by Alexa. If not, simply say “Alexa, discover devices.”

Note: please do not use the old, deprecated “Amazon Echo App. It is only still around for users in countries where the newer Hubitat Skill is not yet supported.

[Mood: feeling sheepish.]

Goddammit. I knew that. Well, I should have known that. Added them on the Hubitat "Alexa Skill" and everything work amazingly easily: Alexa found them automatically in a couple seconds.

Thanks.

I didn't realize that the big gray box that says "Select Devices" in the Amazon Echo Skill was a button that I need to click to reveal all the available devices that I added to the hub.

Dondo, I'm so glad you posted this because I read everyone's response saying to "select devices" and I'm like... but where? -don't judge me
