Echo Dot w/ Nest Hub

I am just starting out building my Smart Home and being able to control things by voice is an important aspect for me. I bought a Nest Hub which is a bit temperamental with some of my devices. I also use Amazon Fresh and I would like my Audible books to play automatically for a set period of time as part of a bedtime routine, which as far as I understand, require Alexa to automate.

Is it worth getting a Dot 4th gen on Prime Day if I already have a Nest Hub? My understanding is that if Matter is ever released both would be border routers and could technically work together with local control, but I wonder if they would currently interfere with each other or otherwise over complicate my setup?

If I do get one I will also be choosing between the free Sengled bulb or the $5 Amazon plug add-on, so general recommendations between those two
with regard to HE would also be appreciated

Thank you

If you're using HE connected everything to that and simply use the alexa's for voice commands. Avoid wifi devices such as the freebies they're offering. I only use alexa really for multiroom music and announcements. I would never use it as a primary control for my smarthome as it is cloud based. All my automations and control remain on HE... If I were to use alexa it would be strictly secondary. (my opinion anyway)
