DST or Standard Time?

Then I guess he got almost twelve hours of sleep in the winter, but only five hours of sleep in the summer? I don't think my body would like that, I sleep the same number of hours a night all year long, though that would certainly match up sleep cycles with the circadian rhythm for your area.

I think the circadian rhythm argument for standard time is weak. It all depends on how far you are from the equator. Moving from the north of the country to the south should really mess with people's circadian rhythms (and it probably does), but we adjust, just like we can adjust to permanent DST with the sun being overhead at 1pm instead of noon.

Standard time: Reasoning, it is more aligned with natural circadian rhythm. DST Time shifts are associated with more cardiovascular events. That should tell us something but we refuse to pay attention......

Definitely Standard Time.

We are currently in the middle of Summer, very much so, Western Australia is likely to have the hottest place on the planet tomorrow...

With DST in place in NSW it starts getting brighter around 5am. I know that if I wake up anywhere after 5am I tend to feel like getting out of bed with the extra light around. I don't think I would like it if that was earlier in the morning relative to other daily activities. But my sleeping patterns are messed up whatever time of year it is, so perhaps it would help me...

Now you tell me, I will be cruising south from Perth/Busselton around next New Year’s Eve. So I shouldn’t need to worry about bringing jackets, hats, and gloves.

North of Perth is likely to hit 49C tomorrow..... Though they don't always get that hot.

Also a great part of the world, been to Perth many times.

Here in Vermont it has been an early and cold winter. Snow all through December, and below freezing for most of the time. It has been below zero F on quite a few nights now already.

We have had a break in temps the last few days with temps just above freezing, then more cold again next week. Looking forward to Spring.

Speaking of which, spring ahead to DST time is the earliest it can be this year, on March 8th. I'm looking forward to daylight during dinner again when we change back to DST.
