Driver Request: EcoLink Flood and Freeze

I recently installed one of these to replace a Utilitec one that crapped out. It connects to the hub as a generic z-wave water leak but doesn't have any options for freeze or wake schedule. Can this be ported from the SmartThings driver below? I'm not that savvy to do that myself.

Have you tried the simple approach? Find and replace physicalgraph with hubitat and see if the driver works? About 75% of time that’s all that’s needed.

I will do that when I get back home and let you know, thanks!

Update: it took the driver after making the changes, but I'm guessing I will have to wait until the device wakes again to see if it changes.

Cool! I'll try to help if it doesn't work, but be forewarned, it's super challenging to debug a driver when I don't have the device in hand so no promises!

I went under the house and opened the cover on it. It showed that the cover was tampered with and then back secure when closing it. I wet my finger and touched the bottom of the sensor and it reported a leak instantly and back dry instantly so I am guessing it is working correctly. Thanks for suggesting that!

This device will work for dry/wet, but not freeze, using the generic moisture driver.

I was also having issues with it remaining connected using the generic, not sure why. It now shows when the cover is open/closed so it seems like it is working with the modified one from EcoLink. If it starts acting up I will switch back to the generic one and post so on here. So far so good.

Edit: it said not connected but would report events then go back not connected.

I'm unclear where this ended up. I just purchased one of these too - I'd love to be able to use the freeze sensor in addition to flood. Did anyone get the driver working with both features?

These are all the stats I have with it using the driver from EcoLink. I haven't looked yet to see if there is a newer driver.

Current States

  • battery : 99
  • tamper : secure
  • water : dry

Device Type: Ecolink Flood Freeze Sensor

  • File Name:
  • Initial Release: 2 / 13 / 2018
  • @author: Ecolink
  • @version: 1.0

It seems like you have to pay for access to the ST drivers? I don't have that right now. However, the driver version I have doesn't show tamper, so it seems I have a different or older version than you are using.

If I knew how to paste it I would, I don't know how to put it in that window thing. I will see if I can find where I got it from.

update: See if you can get it from here.

Very strange. That seems to be the same one I was using. For me, it only shows battery and wet/dry - no temperature/freeze and no tamper.

Same issue.

Has anyone had any weird experiences with these too? I have mine in my garage to monitor for flooding... haven't had them through the winter yet... it's probably around freezing in my garage (un-specifically heated) and it suddenly shows as "wet" (the floor isn't wet...) and I can't seem to get it to go back to dry.

Wondering if it's reporting freeze and somehow i'm seeing it as wet?
