Hello - I recently purchased a couple of Inovelli Blue 2-1 switches but the Zigbee signal is not strong enough to relay to all the switches. The Aeotec Range Extender Zi purports to extend range to 100 meters - though likely about 20 meters in my house - still that would be more than enough. The Inovelli switches say 100 meters but that is down to 3 meters if you have book cases. Maybe I should have stuck with z-wave.
It hasn't arrived here yet - will post more detail once it does - hopefully it's not to hard to create!
Repeaters don't need drivers. They function at the level of the radio. So it will probably pair using the driver called "Device", but function perfectly well as a repeater in your mesh.
Well that is very cool - I had assumed since there were drivers for a 'Generic Z Wave repeater' that there was a need for the same in Zigbee.
@Sebastien - I had pre-ordered a 10 pack of them on the Inovelli site a while back and I am finally getting around to the install. There is a pre-order available for the red series here which I would have preferred (they were sold out then) since I already have a couple of Red Series and Z-wave works better for me. Want to trade a 10 pack... or a 7 pack now since I have installed a few.. haha!
Are you are aware that some from the original batch had a manufacturing defect? If not, check this out. This could be part of the reason why it has issues connecting.
Maybe I should have stuck with z-wave.
