I have a C8. Is the New version available: 2.3.9.193 necessary to download. Or is it just for c3/c4 hubs?
If everything is working for you you can pass. It may fix other issues on hubs other than the C3/C4 tho, so like always, it is your option.
Thanks
One thing to note about skipping updates - if at some point you develop issues and want help debugging, the first responses typically include "Are you on the latest release" and "Please update and let us know if your problem(s) is/are resolved."
Also important to know that It's easy to revert versions (you can update to a new platform version and then fall back to your previous version if you want to), so you aren't locked into the update the way you are on some other systems.
Also depends on what version you are on now, if you are on 192 already then I would say you can easily skip 193. Otherwise if older you would need to check the changes from the version you are on now compared to current.
Second this. It’s really the only way to determine for oneself if it’s “necessary” to upgrade hub firmware.
But if one is experiencing issues with their hub, then upgrading makes sense, as @danabw said.
OP is presumably referring to one of the release note bullet points for firmware 2.3.9.193:
@junk7001 If older than .192, I'd say, forget checking the changes and update to 2.3.9.193 There have been enhancements to both Zigbee and Z-Wave worthy of updating right away, on top of the new features.
