Does Fingerbot have a big brother :-)

Does anyone know of a device that is not much bigger than a fingerbot...but just slightly stronger?

A Thumbot?
A Toebot?
A Armbot?
A Legbot?

What are you trying to press?

Lever?

Funny. I'd actually thought about building a lever contraption myself.

The goal is a simple way to control plantation blinds. The fingerbot is actually "almost" strong enough. I've seen a lot of hacks. Many involve actually cutting/ruining them.

If you have nearby power source electromagnet could be a choice.

Thanks…someday it will be standard. I bet money in a decade we will see electrical for locks, running into every door as well.

I have been using this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CMWTMVR4 with the driver "Tuya Zigbee Fingerbot" by kkossev (available in HPM), and it has been working great since March.

Allows for adjustable start and stop points, which might be helpful for tuning the overall "push strength", assuming it is strong enough in the first place.

Can't compare the strength to a switchbot personally, but it seems decent for the size. I am using it to push a power button on my remote desktop PC for work. Since they have it locked down enough to disable WOL, I had to get a little creative to get the PC booting up while I am still getting ready in the morning :sunglasses:

It has been very reliable on my mesh, though it is in the same room as the hub. I have had to do 1 battery change about a month ago (thought it dropped at first until it wouldn't re-pair). Luckily it was just a dead battery, and it was back up and running!

Oh, it works great. It's just not strong enough.

PS - You can get them on AliExpress for about half that price.

How about if you glued two of them together, and joined the two arms together, and attached a pusher in the middle of the bar.

I don't know if they could act in unison though. Maybe they would enough to work.

Thanks. I had thought about 1 on each side...but not together. Interesting.

I really can't believe there is not something for this on the market. They'd make a killing. Maybe enough posts online would inspire someone with the time and resources to market something.
