I think you control the HVAC cycling rate using the hysteresis and heat pump delay settings. You still want your temp sensors to respond rapidly, so the HVAC goes off as soon as the right temperature it reached, instead of continuing to heat/cool you waiting for the temp sensor to update.

Where do you see you can decrease reporting time for less than 5 minutes?
There is no way to configure that in the built-in driver for Sonoff. I haven't tried the community driver, but that discussion would probably be better under a Sonoff thread.
