I've confirmed that this combination works to provide a Zigbee enabled alarm (not battery backup, but that can be added):

Neat , I did a similar setup, my neighbors hate it
a Z-wave plug and this:
I have used two Sonos Speakers from IKEA.
I use it for dog bark, water, fire and burglar alarm, as well as good morning and wellcome home
