Disabling a Device - 2 q's

If I disable a device then there is no need to remove it from rules and the hub will skip communicating with it when that device is called in rules? I've gotten in the habit of leaving all my movable plugs plugged in somewhere. There is no need for me to do this. Right?

In the docs it mentions disabling the driver. If I have 30 of the same devices each loads a separate driver for that device. Correct?

Thanks!

Some will say disabling devices is not recommended but I have been doing this for several years without issues. I have seasonal devices that are disabled for six months at a time and placing them back into service is a simple matter of re-enabling and reinstalling power or batteries.

I'm really hoping that the case. Same here. Most of these are for seasonal events.

If they are Zigbee or Z-Wave, disabling them has no effect on their radio communication with the mesh, and shouldn’t pose a problem if they’re left plugged in. If they are repeating devices, removing them from power could wreak havoc on the mesh, or at least make it less resilient. For seasonal usage, I go with TP-Link wifi outlets. I can unplug them and not worry about it effecting other devices.

Another potential advantage of Z-wave lr.

But pricier than the TP-Link.
