With the new EZ Dashboards are you able to disable cloud access?
I also have this question. Is it possible to make specific EZ dashboards local only?
Was surprised to see mine was wide open as well. Is there really no way to keep this local only?
How do you access an EZ Dashboard via cloud? Where is the URL displayed ?
I wouldn't say it's "wide open". Accessing an EZ dashboard from the cloud requires an access token, which is not available in the local dashboard mode.
But yeah, we can have a toggle to disable it entirely.
When will this feature be available?
I've also been waiting for this. Do you know when this will be available? One of the reasons I purchased Hubitat is its ability to go local only with no cloud necessary.
I really only have one dashboard out of 10 or 15 that I have set up to be cloud accessible, I don't want to expose every other dashboard to the cloud - even with a token - if I don't have to.
If you are at home on your own network, you are local. The cloud only kicks in when you are not on your local net work so you can still have control over your home. If you on cloud while on your own LAN, try closing and reopening the app. Otherwise you have a setting that is off.
I only use the ezDashboards as a back up, but when the hubitat app says I’m in cloud at home, most of the time a reload and close and reopen the app solves the issue.
That doesn’t solve the underlying issue of ez dashboards having no configuration to block cloud access in the first place.
The cloud link to the dashboard doesn’t just “kick in” when you use it, it’s always there.
Although personally I’m not bothered by that, it’s nice to know @gopher.ny agreed a disable switch was a reasonable request.
True. I was more addressing the apparent concern that there was any cloud at all, and sounding like feeling mislead (at least that's how it came across to me) thinking it was 100% local.
I'm not planning to migrate unless I can make it local only. Prefer not to have it cloud enabled unless I explicitly enable it for specific dashboard.
