Dimmable Recessed Can Light Recommendations Please

For those of you that have Zooz Dimmers, what recessed can lights do you use? The one in our gym flickers so much it’s starting to give me a headache.

Edit: Added picture for reference

I like these - Philips LED Frosted Indoor BR30 Dimmable Warm Glow Effect, I've been replacing my GE Relax / GE Reveal LEDs with them as they dim much better.

I have Sylvania BR30 in my kitchen and they get adjusted to different levels automatically every day, have not noticed any flickering. Have had pretty good luck with all different Sylvania bulbs on the Zooz dimmers actually.

Thank you!! Oddly enough, I switched from the built-in driver to yours (I don't know why this one wasn't on it to begin with...) and it stopped flickering. Maybe it's when I have it NOT at 100% that it flickers since switch to the driver and Configure > Refresh brought it all back to 100%. I'll have to test it out.

Do you have any of these by any chance? This is kind of what I'm talking about. I should add a picture on the post:

No I have actual BR30 bubs in an old can light fixture, probably they are something like this

The ones you linked to are more for a new build, not a retrofit. If you have an existing can light housing they do make "wafer" lights like that for retrofit as well, they would come with an adaptor you screw into the bulb socket and way to attach it to a standard can housing.

I would only go to the wafer lights if there is some extra feature it has which you want vs just a BR30 LED Bulb.

That is common with low quality bulbs (flicker at lower levels), or sometimes just bulbs that don't play nice with certain types of dimmers.

Oh now that you added pic I think I understand better- I assume you already have that style (not the traditional kind) ... in that case sorry I don't have any great recommendation. I'm using a bunch of Sunco ones like that too that were retro installed where no fixures were previously. They dim OK to about 30-40% but do seem to flicker a bit on trying to go any lower (not terrible ~ but I cant stand any flicker).

These are the exact ones I have so they’re retrofit for cans.

But now that I think about it, this is for new construction so it’s weird they didn’t just tell me to get canless wafers but wanted to install cans and asked me to look for retrofit wafers :face_with_spiral_eyes:

But, this may be a blessing in disguise as I can probably just get those Sylvania BR30s. This may be a dumb question, but is there a way to make these look like wafer lights?

ok not a dumb question - i want to say yes there is, if you mean a flush diffuser/trim piece so you can't see the bulb. I couldn't tell you what it's called but I have a recessed light in a shower that has a spring loaded diffuser that looks like the light above but it's just the glass, trim, and spring - with a regular BR30 screwed in above ... hope that helps

Exactly! I tried to Google it and saw the shower ones but otherwise, it’s mostly just open in the bottom. Which is probably good too since it’ll be easier to swap the light bulb.
