Anyone have any suggestions for a LED light fixture, something like the one pictured below that is dimmable and does not have the motion sensing?
My wife does not like the shape of standard floodlights (round).

I run several of these. They are great value and work really well. The build quality is great.
I noticed these appear to run Zigbee ZLL instead of Zigbee ZHA. Have you experience any Zigbee mesh issues with using these?
Do they need to be smart? The suggestion above is Zigbee, but there's no reason they need to be if they're on a switch you could make smart instead. Then you'd have a lot of options. If you do want smart and have a separate network for these (a second hub or Hue Bridge, or just no other types of Zigbee devices on your hub), the Hue Waca would also work.
Good point, I run my lights on my Hue, so I am not experiencing any issues. I donΒ΄t know how they would behave straight on the HE.
No, that's not the current plan. I currently have plans to install a Z-Wave dimmer for this location. If I wanted to get real fancy, I know I'd be able to disable the relay in the dimmer. So maybe even a smart RGBW bulb?
Went back and re-read your post... Hue Waca? Interesting... But a bit of a steep price tag.
Second vote for the Gledopto floods. I have the same ones (10W) and they are directly connected to my HE without any issues. I use them around my trees in the front yard and on my front porch. They're awesome for holiday lighting. I had a rule for 4th of July that switched them every hour to alternating red, white and blue patterns. I have similar plans for them to switch between orange and purple for Halloween and then I'm going to integrate them into my Christmas display as well.
They are a bit pricey ($40 each), but even the 10W ones are super bright for whites and they reproduce colors fairly well.
@Kulfsson and @corerootedxb Do you have these attached to a Z-Wave Dimmer? I'm wondering how well these work with the mirror app? My experience with Hue lights is that they will follow a Z-Wave dimmer. But the dimming seems really delayed. That's of course, using a hue hub. So I wonder if connecting these directly to HE will improve that performance.
Also, How are these installed? Will they work with a recessed electrical box? Or will I need some type of cover plate?
Thank you all for the feedback!
Nope. They are Zigbee lights, so no need to attach to any other type of dimmer or controller. Just pair them to HE (or Hue if you want) and then call it a day. You can then use RM to mirror each other or have them work as individual lights. It's all up to you! Since they are already attached to HE, you can also have them mirror a Z-Wave dimmer if that's your choice.
As for installation, I have them screwed in using drywall screws on my front porch, attached to my soffit, and stainless steel screws for my trees. The lights themselves are self contained units, so no enclosures are required (unless you want one) as they are already IP65 rated. Also, they come without plugs and are pre-wired with wire tails, so you can attach any length of 16 gauge, grounded cord you need to run them. For the ones on my farthest tree, I took four 6' extension cords and cut one end of them off and wired those into a each unit. Then, I plugged those into an outdoor power strip with a single Zigbee wall plug (as a repeater) and then run that back to my house.
