I’m down to my last working HS-WX300 In wall dimmer switch with the LED indicator display. I have become reliant on these and it appears that they are no longer available. I guess it’s time to ask if there is anything better out there? I know I could install a panel with a dashboard, but that’s really overkill for what I need. I have enjoyed just seeing a colored LED on the wall and knowing what it meant. I ordered a Zooz switch today that has a single programmable LED. It just might be enough.
Could always go with an inovelli dimmer!? They have notifications as well as 7 programmable LEDs. Never had a HS-WX300 but the inovelli looks to be kinda like it. https://inovelli.com/
Until you pointed this out, I was unaware the 300 series was discontinued. I hope they produce a replacement before I need my next one.
If you don't mind waiting a few months, it looks like they're planning a new generation to replace them: https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/homeseer-products-services/homeseer-z-wave-products/homeseer-dimmers-switches/hs-wx300/1701486-so-what-s-after-the-wx300-r2-s
That being said, the Inovelli devices mentioned above have long been my preference. Their LED bar is visible enough from a distance to actually be usable for me, though historically it's been a single color and effect for the whole bar and not individual LED colors like on HomeSeer. The latest generation changes that, though you'd still have a hard time doing so with the stock diffuser (except for maybe half the bar at a time or so if you'd have a use for that). They also were a lot sooner to catch on to "smart bulb mode" that many people use these for, and they come in both Z-Wave and Zigbee (and now also Matter over Thread) variants if you want a mix of protocols.
For hardwired switches, the Inovelli are awesome.
Supposedly the HomeSeer switches also have addressable color LED's but they seem to have a rather closed system so might not be standard Z-wave. ETA: I did not realize the model number of the switch you posted as no longer available is a HomeSeer switch. NM.
I went with the ThirdReality Multi Sensor Plug in device. You can set the light to be an indicator in any color you want. Great device.
Ignoring any other faults, this isn't one -- they use standard and well documented command classes and work with both built-in and custom drivers on Hubitat.
I love the individually addressable LEDs and use them daily to annunciate various device and appliance status around the house. Everything from when the washer is finished to the garage is open to my truck has less than 50 miles of fuel in it.
I have a HomeSeer HS-WD200+. Its been working for years. It has 7 LED's, each with 7 colors (plus off).
Would you mind sharing some details on how you do that? Looking for some jumping-off points, in my head the logic could be complex but would love an example of someone else doing this... also, what HomeSeer switch are you using?
I have several Homeseer HS-WX300, but good luck finding any out there. They've been discontinued and the replacement hasn't come out yet (if ever). In either case, I use webcore to automate the led's.
For example, when the indoor smoker, which is in the basement, is running, one LED at the dimmer at the top of the stairs will annunciate the current status, and flash if user intervention is required.
For the 4Runner, I have two pistons - one which executes certain conditions on button presses and also triggers on status changes:
This piston executes a second piston which actually illuminates the LED:
