I recently purchased a number of Tuya Temperature and Humidity sensors. In attempting to install the first one I mistakenly loaded it with an incorrect driver (Tuya 4 in 1 sensor). I subsequently found the correct driver and successfully installed several of the devices on my C7 hub. However, after removing the first device and attempting to reinstall it, it will not install correctly.
Here's the odd part - if I remove it from the hub and install it on my C8 hub (with the correct driver available) it installs perfectly. This leads me to believe it's not a device issue but maybe something zigbee related? Could something be hanging around in the Zigbee inner workings on the C7 hub for that particular device?
The first two screenshots are of the non functional install on the C7, the second two for the successful on the C8.
Was this driver automatically selected on pairing, or did you have to change to it after the fact? If the latter, make sure you hit "Configure" after changing drivers. If that doesn't help, try resetting and re-pairing the device without removing it from Hubitat first (that way, it will recognize the device and already have the right driver). It's possible it only listens for configuration (and possibly more) at pairing. That's a bit unusual for most devices, but this brand tends to put out unusual devices.
Beyond that, I'm not sure; there are certainly Zigbee differences between the two hubs, but most devices are fine on both. I do see the driver you're using appears to be one from an author who is no longer around here, and there might be another one available that behaves differently, as that one has likely not been updated in some time.
It automatically selects on pairing on both hubs and yes, I hit config after installing. I've tried resetting and repairing, although I'm not convinced the device is actually resetting (display stays in F whereas factory default was C). The documentation is pretty spotty but I do an extend press on the reset button and have tried removing the batteries for an extended period.
I didn't expect the zigbee communications to be different, I was just speculating that something was hanging around in the zigbee database (I don't know anything about the inner workings) that kept reinforcing something from that initial botched install with the wrong driver. The driver is older as you point out, but it's working perfectly on several other identical devices. My thinking was that the driver works (other devices), the device works (other hub) so something else must be mucked up.
Not sure it's worth spending any more time for just this one device, I just thought there might be a bigger lesson toe be learned for the future. Thanks for the advice.
