I just removed a device from all Rule 4.0 in preparation to update the device firmware. Even though the device has been removed from the Rule if I look at the Device info it still shows the device "In Use By" for all the rules. How can I clean this up so that the Rules are no longer shown in the device info?
Check the "conditions" of the rules to see if it's in use there.
Rule 4.0 was not good at cleaning up when elements of a rule were deleted. The only sure way to do it was to go to wherever the device had been selected, and deselect it. But, that place might no longer be accessible. In this case, the only alternative to clean it up, if you feel that is necessary, is to remove the rule and recreate it. The rule being listed as In Use By is in and of itself quite harmless, except for the damage to your sensibilities it causes.
