Device is reporting temperature and battery every 2 minutes

I have an old SmartThings Multi Sensor that I just noticed is reporting battery and temperature values every 2 minutes or so and has been for weeks or possibly months. When I look at the Usage Stats, it's number 6 in usage even thought the door it's attached to is rarely ever used. As far as I can tell no other device is doing this.

Is this normal? Is a device's reporting frequency configurable? I'm relatively new to HE and don't understand why this is happening or how to troubleshoot so any advice is appreciated.

It certainly doesn't sound normal. You may need to be a little more specific with the physical device model and the HE driver you are using. The HE model / platform version never hurts as well.

I have some contact sensors as well, so night take a look at mine.

One other thing to check would be the Current States (attributes) on the device page. Are the temperature and battery percentage displayed? If you click on the Events button, do you see events being recorded in line with the logs, or just changes in values?

If I turn on the Info a Debug logging mine appears to be reporting the temperature every minute, but not the battery, at least HE is not logging it like yours is.

I don't know what options are available to the HE developers in adjusting any settings on the physical device, but at least on the device page there does not appear to be any option to adjust the frequency.

You may want to try some other custom drivers to configure the reporting periods for this SmartThings Multi Sensor, but this is a standard 'classic' sensor and should be already handled by the HE inbuilt drivers.

Try first to factory reset it and pair it again to HE hub.

I ran the configure command and that seems to have stopped the flow of temperature readings coming through for the last 10+ minutes. Will wait to see and updated temperature come through....

I'd noticed it earlier and forgot about it....

I also made use of the Preference Manager to easily turn on the Info Logging on the 15 sensors I have. Temperature readings are slowly trickling in for them now.

It was also weird / lucky that the one sensor I chose was the one to exhibit the behaviour, all 14 others did not continually report temperature... strange.
