Device Firmware Updater only works first time

I have a C-8 hub running 2.4.0.151 with about 60 z-wave devices associated with it, most are S2 auth. I am having a problem with the "Device Firmware Updater" app. It seems to work once, then I try and update a second device and it stalls here:

If I reboot the hub and try again, it usually goes through.

I've been updating my Zooz Zen76 device, which are powered and should not be "sleepy", but I have tried to disable the device first, with no success.

Has anyone else seen this?
Other than rebooting the hub, any work arounds?

thanks!

Yes, I've mentioned it in every updater-related post I see.

A hub reboot in beween each update is necessary, or any subsequant update takes 12+ hours and may or may not complete.

@bcopeland - can this issue be fixed? If not, should @bertabcd1234 perhaps update the documentation accordingly?

ETA - but I should mention that the Updater does work like a champ overall -- all of my devices are S2, but aside from my unfortunate discovery the hard way about subsequent updates, all of my updates have gone quickly and smoothly. I just did my first one on JS yesterday, and it went great.

@hydro311 - Thanks!

Iโ€™m glad to hear Iโ€™m not the only one. Would really love to get this fixed!

I've experienced the same in the past...first update, usually works. Second w/out reboot, not so much. Reboot, and then things are better again. Frankly I can't remember if I was just doing a regular reboot or doing the power cycle reboot.

I'm pretty sure I've had good luck with a plain reboot - I don't recall pulling power too.

I wanted to report back on thisโ€ฆ.

I upgraded to a C-8 Pro and then switched to the ZwaveJS stack. Now I can do firmware updates without having to reset the hub, works as it should.

In general, my experience with the new zwave stack has been very positive!
