[DEPRECATED] Universal Ecobee Suite, Version 1.8.01

Ok so I just ran another test for away and nothing changed even for heat.

It seems to be using the thermostat's presets for your apps mode change. Meaning whenever the app sends command to change to heat, cool, auto it will use the numbers from the comfort settings heat and cool setpoints. Not sure if I explained that well enough

This is what the thermostat does ALWAYS - it gets its setpoints from the currently select comfort setting. When you change setpoints, you should be changing the ones for the selected comfort setting.

Right so it's not changing the set points for the selected mode

After extensive additional testing, I am unable to recreate your issue - using the 1.8.25 version of Smart Mode (at al), the helper correctly changes the setpoints for the "middle" range, whether I specify both or only one.

I am at a loss to explain why yours isn't working.

I suggest perhaps that you should recreate your Helper instance from scratch, to see if that helps clear things up.

Well re-created everything from scratch and its working perfectly. thats crazy. sorry i keep bothering you.

Hello, does the ESM work with the Ecobee SmartBuildings accounts? I installed ESM and when linking the API there is an option for a Commercial account which I thought would be SmartBuildings since it is meant for Commercial and and supports the EMS Ecobee products according to Ecobee documentation. When I try selecting Commercial as the account type and then try to authenticate it won't accept my SmartBuildings login. I also don't know what the field is needing that asks for the path of the desired Management Set.

Edit: Looking around on Ecobee's site I see references to a commercial app that doesn't seem to exist anymore so I'm thinking Ecobee had something different before SmartBuildings which is a completely different platform that the prior Commercial account.
If the ESM could be updated to link into Ecobee's SmartBuildings platform that would be wonderful. The company I work for uses Ecobee's as well as Hubitat and I would like to be able to use them together.

Sorry, no ESM does not support SmartBuildings; and yes, it supports the older (defunct?) Commercial accounts.

SmartBuildings uses a completely different API, and I’m not up for a total rewrite for something that I can’t/won’t ever be able to use (I am retired).

You might reach out to the “other” community developed (for profit) Ecobee integration to see if the author has already done the work, or is interested in doing so.

Sorry…

Thank you, I understand. Probably not that many SmartBuildings users out there also needing to use Hubitat.

Anyone else having problems? It looks like I'm locked out of my Ecobee account as of today:

Error
Access denied.
To protect the requested service, this request has been blocked or was unable to complete for other reasons.

Looks like a lot of people are having a problem: https://downdetector.com/status/ecobee/

It's an Ecobee API server issue. Most instances of Ecobee Suite will automatically recover, but some people may need to re-authenticate to get things running again.

FWIW, both of my installations where impacted. One recovered on its own at 4:24pm EDT; the other recovered at 4:27pm.

I expect that users of the native Ecobee support provided by Hubitat (and SmartThings) will not automatically recover, as their implementations are not as robust about re-trying failed connections.

YMMV!

It appears back up now.

I had to reauthenticate my Mom's Ecobee to her hub but mine is just fine. Strange outage.

Well, my rule to let me know it was offline worked. I got a message at 4:00pm that it was offline, but by the time I got home and checked it it was working again.

I'm going to install this app today. I just started using the integration app and lost authentication for the first time without knowing it. It only takes once....

I'm sure I'm missing it, but where are the install instructions for HE?

Documentation is in the GitHub repository linked at the top of this thread.

Can you post your rule?

I had not looked at it in awhile and wrote it some time ago. I just added the two EcoBee reports triggers, I originally just had it running every hour.

I am not using the Ecobee Suite, just the built-in integration and this is what I setup yesterday to notify me on any future failures.
