Delay Alerts potential to Disable Future HSM Alerts and Delay Alerts for Selected Doors not working as intended

,

I tried emailing this to support@hubitat.com a few times now, but maybe they don't monitor that inbox anymore.

See the below OneDrive link for a screen recording to demonstrate my below findings.
I'm running a C-5 with Platform Version 2.4.0.144
HSM Issues.mp4

You might need to download the video or change it to 1080p in order to see it clearly.

Delay intrusion alerts only for these doors
It appears that HSM is not working correctly for Delay Alerts when selecting individual doors.

Alert Cancel with Pending Alert disables Future Alerts
Also I noticed that if you cancel an HSM Alert while you have a Pending HSM Alert that you will get no future HSM Alerts until you Disarm and Re-arm the System.

This seems like it could be a pretty big deal as there is the potential that an HSM Alert is Auto-Cancelled by a Rule while there is a Pending Alert effectively disabling your HSM from issuing any further alerts without user interaction.

I second this.... something is not right with HSM delays and alerts. I have a C8 on version 2.4.0.151 and set arming audio and text alerts but then turned them off and they continue to trigger. I have disabled, rebooted and uninstalled reinstalled and configured without the alerts, but they continue to trigger (even with HSM uninstalled).

I will look into this...

Just following up to see if you have had a chance to look into this, thanks!

This did not get addressed before. I'm looking into it...

Hi, just want to make sure this gets addressed, thank you!

Is there anyone that can assist with validating/resolving this issue, it has been a year since this posting, thank you.
@support_team

Yes, we will look into it to make sure it gets addressed. Sorry for the long delays.

I was not able to reproduce the problem with delayed alerts, but it's possible I just didn't have the exact right combination of settings. I can see where some selections for Armed-Away, Armed-Home, and Armed-Night, including "...only for these doors", may have been confused with those from another arm state in certain cases during execution (but not in the UI). I suspect that could have been the cause for the above, and those have been fixed.

The issue with future events not causing notifications after cancellation has for sure been found. It was also not specific to pending alerts (it affected any), and it was unique to cancellation from the button in the HSM UI. Because any automated methods of doing this, e.g., a switch or button device, are not affected, that's an easy workaround for now for anyone who needs one.

Both fixes will likely make their appearance in platform 2.4.4.

Thanks for the information, and hopefully these are both it!

Thanks for the assistance and trying to validate my findings. I did some more testing and these are my findings with my C-5 on Platform Version 2.4.3.176

NOTE: I noticed a few changes to Hubitat since my posting a year ago......there is now an Update HSM button and also you canNOT Cancel a Pending alert manually from HSM, the Cancel Alerts button doesn't show up in HSM until after the intrusion delay is over.

1-DELAY INTRUSION alerts only for selected doors
It appears that if you toggle the "Delay intrusion alerts only for selected doors" or you make any changes to which doors you have selected or the timeframe and fail to click the Update HSM or Done with HSM buttons on the subsequent page it will disable the intrusion delay entirely even though it will still show all the changes you made in the "Configure Arming/Disarming/Cancel Options" section of HSM.

Also if you were to open the "Configure Arming/Disarming/Cancel Options" section of HSM without making any changes, and then you close out the browser tab, the intrusion delay will no longer work.

If you de-select the "Delay intrusion alerts only for selected doors" and make changes to the time without clicking on any other buttons and even if you close the browser tab, the intrusion delay will work.

2-Auto Alert Cancel with PENDING Alert disables Future Alerts
Canceling an alert via HSM manually or via a rule after the alert has been issued both allow subsequent alerts.
Canceling a "pending" alert via a rule will prevent you from receiving that alert and all future alerts without manual intervention.....HSM will just be stuck with a "Delayed intrusion alert pending".

I would retest with 2.4.4 (you will probably be able to join the beta once it's about to be released if you're interested) given the changes.

Needing to click "Done" or "Update HSM" is normal -- I'd suggest it after any change, but there are certain ones where it's required (it's just that some will happen to work without it anyway). This is true for many apps, with some caution required for complex ones like RM rules where something may be in progress that shouldn't be re-initialized.

Thanks!
