Decora scene controller?

Does anyone know of a Decora style momentary up/down paddle that is a zigbee scene controller/buttons? I just swapped out my kitchen undercounter lights from dimmed halogen to zigbee leds. I have bound the old z-wave Decora dimmer with the zigbee leds (using the Switch Bindings DTH) and it works fine for on/off, but when using the wall paddle to increase or decrease the dimmer, the change doesnt happen until you let go. Im not considering Pico. If this product doesnt exist, it seems like it would be useful.

The latest version (2.0 I think) of the Zooz Zen-27 Dimmer shows up as a Zooz Central Scene Dimmer. I expect @agnes.zooz could confirm if it would do as you wish.

Thanks for the input, but I dont really want to have to use a whole actual dimmer when all I need is the paddle, buttons and controller/radio. Thats basically what im doing now, just because the GE 14294 dimmer matches the look and feel of other Decora in my house, and it was already in place. The dimmer is basically idle, I have no wire connected to the Load pin. The issue with it as a controller is that it doesn't send dimming levels while it is press-and-hold up or down dimming, only after you let go the button.

Sorry...missed the word "momentary" in your initial description.

Can't say I have a clue, although perhaps a Zen-26 might work. It shows up as a scene controller as well (I think) when running the latest firmware version, but I don't really have any idea if it will act as you describe.

Our dimmers don't send these reports because Hubitat requested to remove them, otherwise they wouldn't be supported by the platform. We still have the old firmware available though and that would probably work well here so get in touch with us if you're interested in trying the ZEN27 dimmer out.

But wouldn't that flood the network with messages? It seems more efficent to only send the level after it is at it's final level. You're never going to be able to match up with it exactly via a rule or app because it's going to be changing too quickly. The only real way to bind them together is with a button device rather than a dimmer.

im just trying to emulate the functionality of a real z-wave dimmer, where pressing and holding the up button you get a progressive increase in light. You hold it until its at the brightness you want, then let go. Im not sure that a few messages per second for less than a few seconds counts as a 'flood' of messages.

You're still not going to get the functionality you want. What you want is a button controller and to use the "Start Raising" and "Start Lowering" commands alone with the "Stop Changing" command on release. And if you want something that will fit perfectly in a decora slot, well, a Pico is the perfect cheap option. But you said you don't want one of them. Sorry.

At this point im sorely tempted to try a $17 Sylvania 73743 switch, and hack it into the back of a Honeywell 39350 3-way add-on switch, which has the right look and feel and is $19.

Im just puzzled as to why this simple product doesnt exist from GE/Honeywell/Jasco yet.

There is only one good button controller device out there right now in my opinion and that's the Lutron Pico. It is a market that is sorely devoid of options unfortunately. All the manufacturers seem to think everyone wants to use their voice to control everything. I'm old school, I like buttons.
