Dealing with Sonoff

I’ve never done a preorder before, but did with Sonoff for one of their hose valves. They immediately charged my card and when I decided to cancel the order, they refused. It’s not scheduled to be shipped until the end of June. Is that right?? Does a pre-order mean a lock in and no cancellations allowed? BTW – their email is weird – the printed email address doesn’t work. There’s a link with the printed address that goes somewhere completely different – and while that doesn’t get bounced back, they still refuse to answer.

If there was no “No Returns or Cancellations” when you ordered, I would go through your credit card company. Dispute the charge and then the fight is between them and Sonoff.

I think if you were charged for a pre-order and asked to cancel before they even prepared to ship the item, they have no valid reason to refuse to cancel the order.

Even if there is a prominently displayed “no cancelations” policy at the time of purchase. For a device only available for pre-order, that’s nonsense.

Sounds like you made a good faith effort to communicate with the seller and they’ve either ignored you, or stuck with their unreasonable policy of not refunding pre-orders.

I would dispute with the credit card company.

Thanks for the sanity check about pre-orders. My credit card company now has the ball.
