I have had my dashboards set up and working fine for the past two years, however this week on two occasions, the dashboards have lost some of their devices, resulting in inoperable buttons. When I go into the dashboard app, the missing devices are unticked, I tick them and they are then added back onto the relevant dashboard.
I have not done anything to the system so can't understand why this is happening. Has anyone else experienced this? I am using the latest version of of the software on a C4 hub.
Are they all the same type of devices, or is it random. Z-wave vs Zigbee vs Hubmesh vs ?
What Hubitat platform version are you on?
Have you made any changes on the hub recently? (Added/removing devices, etc.)
No changes to the hub, the version is 2.2.6. It is mainly z wave devices missing, but that is what I have most of. It is not specifically z wave though, my Nest Protects also disappeared.
That is very odd. Devices shouldn’t be removing themselves from the dashboard.
I might have experienced something similar, but I make a lot of hub changes, so I suspect that this was the cause.
In your case, there is a risk that it could be a database issue. If it keeps happening or if you are experiencing other issues, you can download a fresh backup of your hub and then restore it. This will fix most database corruption issues.
If that doesn’t fix it, let us know so that we can see if there might be other causes…
Thanks, I restored the back up earlier today and it appears to have worked. I'll keep an eye on it as it has happened twice this week.
It is important to restore it from file, not from the hub… I don’t know that restoring it directly from the hub will fix DB issues.
