Do these things still work?
No. At least not in the US.
I sent mine back to Amazon for recycling a while ago. Also in the US... They were a pretty short lived product. Never found too much of a useful case for it.
I used to have TONS of the Dash Buttons. They would have a deal to buy one for $0.99 and get $1 (or more) off your purchase... so I just kept getting them for "free". Combined with detecting when they joined the network they were useful as a single-press button for home automation but I just ended up with too many. Never once used one for it's intended purpose though. Amazon probably was not happy with me about that. Thankfully they could be sent in for recycling also.

I remember that article! But since I could have my router (at the time) just notice when it came on the network it could immediately trigger something (since it was an integrated home automation/network & wifi router/z-wave & zigbee radio), I was able to bypass having to do anything other than the initial setup through the Amazon app.
