Danfoss Ally

I've gotten my hands on one of these devices from Danfoss. As far as I know, Danfoss used to have some Z-wave based TRV's but they appear discontinued.

Now they have these Zigbee 3.0 certified devices, which seems really nice compared to my Netatmo TRVs.
I can get it to pair with Hubitat but I have no control or feedback from the TRV.

  • endpointId: 01
  • application: 02
  • manufacturer: Danfoss
  • model: eTRV0100
  • softwareBuild: 01.02.0008 01.02
  • inClusters: 0000,0001,0003,000A,0020,0201,0204,0B05
  • outClusters: 0000,0019

Is there something here that stands out as to why they don't work?
It gets picked up as a 'Device' and I have tried the Thermostat drivers which made sense to try.

try this driver: Sinope TH1300ZB Thermostat
be sure to click configure after changing to it

No luck.

The logs report this after a configure:

No luck meaning what?, the logs are normal for that type of thermostat, except refresh didn't return data.
If there's really nothing in that driver that works, there's a serious issue with the device or toue zigbee mesh.

There's no response from the TRV nor can I set the temperature on it.

The TRV is within range from Hubitat and the rest of my Zigbee network, works like a treat. Never had any hiccups since I got my Hubitat, so thanks for that.

Could there be some Zigbee 3.0 stuff that's not supported by ZHA?

Shouldn't be the case if the device was certified by the alliance. You have other zigbee devices in the area of the trv working correctly?

Yeah. I have no issues with any other devices in the area of the TRV.

Are the Zigbee logs useful in this scenario? Because there don't seem to be any communication to or from the TRV in those logs. I also have a button, which doesn't show itself in the logs so I'm not sure how useful they are.

Found this thread from Deconz explaining some stuff about this device, including the commands[PDF] and attributes[PDF] and some weird offset issue, which seems to be an Ally exclusive.
