Custom attribute issue with rule machine question

i assumed I had to use integer attribute types to be able to do a comparision in rule machine.
But it wouldnt work. It did not give me any options of comparisons when trying to add a rule.
So I changed to stirng, This gave me comparisions but only = != etc.
What type do I need to be able to do > , >= etc.

figured it out thanks.. cannot use integer attribute type, need to use number..
