Cool indoor place to bike in Pittsburgh

I raise you my hip and right forearm

About the size of my hand

I may need a skin graft on my forearm

Most dangerous moment...putting on the wrist band! Gotta avoid catching any hair in the adhesive or you'll pay big-time!

Place looks pretty amazing. Almost makes you hope it rains so you have to go there.

Been going for years. Very fun.... Good for winter riding (though I ride in the snow too)

That’s the craziest sports complex I’ve seen.
Totally enclosed, multi level bike park. WOW !

Pittsburgh is a huge mountain biking town surprisingly. We have over 600 miles of singletrack mountain biking trails. Not to mention a huge bike lane infrastructure and the GAP trail (you can ride from Pittsburgh to DC.) and at least 76 independent craft brewries for after ride libations.

Pittsburgh is not bad for road biking either, as long as you are conditioned for it (Shut up legs....) There are several good trails that are road bike compatible as well. (I have ridden the other way DC-> Pittsburgh)

Yeah we are hill country... To be honest I stick gravel grinding and single track. Too many people on the road that don't care about bikers (we have an abnormally high amount of ghost bikes in town). When I decided to keep a collapse able baton on me and I actually used it because someone purposely buzzed me is when I decided road riding for me needed to end. I would have ended up in prison otherwise (that is not hyperbole)

I hear ya. I run Varia Radar and stay out of towns for the most part. Even at that, my back country roads are seeing an increase in vehicle traffic too. I think I had 75 vehicle contacts on my last 13 miler. One of them was clocked at almost 70 (speed limit is 40 on the entirety of this ride)

I may run the ms150 again when I drop some weight but beyond that,....nope

I hear ya on the weight loss. But, the bike is part of how I did it. Left side is 5 years ago (this week as a matter of a fact), Right side is last summer. I was riding at the weight on the left as well...... Just not as easily.

Yeah in 2007 I gave up smoking and went up to 270 from 196. Got on the bike and maintained 215 for years. Then about 5 years ago I started working on renovating a house. Lots of beer with no earning it and went up to 300. My bike riding plummeted and the additional junk food...well... This year my plan is getting back to regular riding and dieting and only drinking beer when I earn it,.
