Controlling "automatic technology" rolling garage door?

Just had one of these installed

and was wondering if anyone has one and knows of a way to connect to it?

Get an extra wall button or remote. Solder jumper wires to the board to simulate a button press. Connect a smart relay to the added wires.

Zigbee Switchbot? These work decent as a button presser if you have a spare door remote.

Jtp's method above works too, but if you can't solder or want something less permanent, try the Switchbot.

Oh yeah, good one, a few people have used those as well. I have seen people either just zip tie them together or build a little jig out of wood to hold everything in place.

Not to be a downer, but I've had recent bad luck with a zigbee fingerbot (not switchbot) on a gate remote. I believe the device itself lost its position over the course of its operations, until it wouldn't depress the button at 100%. Mine could be an outlier. Just a (possible) heads up.

I'm gonna try soldering.

I probably don't have nearly the cycles on my Switchbot as you do. I am sure these will eventually wear out or break, they are mostly a toy after all.

I do think that careful adjustment of the plunger extension can mitigate some of this wear and breakage, I had to play with the settings a whole bunch to get it to just barely press the button without pressing too hard.

But they are much simpler for people to set up and try if you can't solder, if you just want to try out an automation to see if you are going to use it, or something on a temporary basis like holiday lights that can't be automated natively through Zigbee or Z-wave or similar.

Just now I managed to connect some wires to a remote and thence to a ZEN16. Not pretty, but it works.

I just did this with a three button garage door remote. The Zen 16 relays are soldered to the button contacts, set for 1 second reset, are operated by a dashboard tile using LGK Virtual Garage Door app which combines a tilt sensor and the Zooz relay to provide door status and open close capability.

For my three car garage, I am also using a ZEN16 plus the Zooz app. The controls are old enough that I didn't have to do any soldering to remotes, and hooked up to the wall controls. Ecolink (z-wave) tilt sensors have been great, with long lasting batteries.
