ControlByWeb Thermocouple to 1-Wire Adapter

I think I'm going to give this a whirl.
Hook it up to a Fibaro Smart Implant.
Comments?

edit: Well, I ordered the stuff. Yeah, it's a gamble, but intriguing. I ordered a 16' thermocouple that could reach to the basement and then connect to an existing Fibaro Smart Implant. If all goes well, lol.

what are you trying to measure? the direct DS18B20 temp sensor is crazy-cheap for -55 ℃ ~ +125 ℃ . Many sources of diff cables on Amazon and elsewhere.

I can see thermocouple being useful for grill-smoker control, but running a grill over zwave seems like a recipe for disaster. Likewise doesn't belong in life-safety. I have found it useful to just monitor if the hot water pipe is warm or not, to just strap a zigbee contact+temp sensor to the pipe. Furnace/AC is even easier to drop a sensor into a duct end.

That is an interesting adapter for potentially wide temp range. I will save this text for reference= " Thermocouple to 1-Wire Adapter

Thermocouple to 1-Wire Adapter compatible with select ControlByWeb devices (see below).

Overview

The X-TC1W-K is a thermocouple to 1-Wire signal adapter for use in a broad range of industrial applications. It works directly with X-400 Series, X-600M, and WebRelay Wireless modules with a 1-Wire Bus (X-410, X-420, etc.),"

It's for my information, not control, although it could prod me into doing something, like adjusting the air for better combustion, or whatnot. So, I guess that's kind of control.

I'd like to know what the temperature of the top of my wood stove insert is. I already have a thermo controller with a thermocouple that turns on the fan at a certain temperature, and then goes to high speed at another higher temperature.

I like to keep the stove top at 700F or less, but it's gotten higher, lol

I couldn't find a thermocouple that would interface with Hubitat, except something by WirelessTag, and that required their cloud. This would be all local. The Fibaro SI I installed reports three temps on a tank, and is working great. If I could add what it thinks is just another 1-wire sensor, and it works, I think it'd be great.

I've used a lot of CbyW stuff - the devices have proven reliable and the support has been first rate.

I have not tried to use any of it with Hubitat.

I'm hoping it will merely convert the output of the thermocouple into a DS18B20 signal that the Fibaro Smart Implant can read. I hope not to get further involved with CbyW than that. I hope.

I just installed the 'Konnected Pro' to connect with my old alarm system hard wired sensors. An added benefit that I didn't realize was that you can connect multiple DS18B20's to it. I have (2) sensors on one zone currently and it works like a charm.
I will say that I found the Konnected to be very easy to interface with my C8 (other than downloading apps and drivers). They have excellent step by step directions.
I believe you can also use the DS18B20's with the less expensive Konnected products.
