Being used to the Legacy Dashboards and having dashboards designed specially for TV remote controls, with buttons and even icons with images for Netflix/Amazon, or Volume control, power, etc.
When it comes to Easy Dashboard - what would be the best approach to use? Any recommendations for TV Control?
If use a device with Button capabilities, we would end up having a device with maybe 40 small grey buttons in the eash dashboard screen, very difficult to distinguish or to use for a remote control (even though now you can rename them! great!). Can we hide any extra buttons? Change layout? Something that can make at least a TV remote control be used in the EZ Dashboards?
Looking to exchange ideas!
I tried that with a virtual button device created for my home theater remote when EZ was first released and this is the result in EZ Dashboard. Not very helpful.
Yes @stephen_nutt - that is exactly what is going on and what I am trying to figure an alternative. This is a Samsung Remote (that has about 60 buttons). Even renaming a few doesn't look practical. Maybe someone has another idea or the Hubitat team is working on something for this already @bobbyD as it seems so far extremely difficult and not practical to control a TV/Receiver via the EZ dashboards layout.
While not currently working on it, enhancements to the Easy Dashboard are planned in the future to accommodate more remote control capabilities. The current phase of the Easy Dashboard delivered basic functionality for existing built-in drivers. As we add more multi-functional drivers, the Easy Dashboard will expand too.
