I just updated firmware with the Lutron integration fix. 2.4.2.134 I am experiencing a bug however. If you change the name of the Lutron device after it has been created, that change isn't reflected in the dashboard manager. It only shows the original name.
I've even gone and changed some names a second time and still no update in dashboard.
OK, so the dashboard app itself. (That is what is used to "manage" parts of Hubitat Dashboard, but there are both Hubitat Dashboard and Easy Dashboard, so that was also part of my question.)
Your Lutron screenshot is also confusing. Did you really have 12 different Caseta (or RA2) systems in your home? That's what it looks like, and those names aren't used anywhere -- they're just for the app itself, and all other apps will see like Dashboard are just the device names that each integration ultimately creates inside. Assuming you only have one Lutron system, the correct approach is to create a single integration and then add your devices (maybe you have 12 of those?) inside that integration.
But either way: changing the name inside the Lutron integration app after creation, as you might be doing in that last screenshot, also isn't going to change anything on the hub that's already been created. You can rename it there too so things match if that's less confusing for you in the future, but to actually rename the device, you do it like any other device: from the device detail page.
The integration between Lutron and Hubitat passes information between the two devices using a device list that includes a letter that describes the type of device, a number that identifies the specific device, and a description of the device. For example:
The device descriptions may or may not be exactly the same as is listed in the Lutron app. The description in the integration list carries over into the Hubitat device information and from there into whatever dashboard you might be using unless that dashboard has the capability of providing an alternate description.
Thus, if you want to relabel a Lutron device, change the description in the integration list and then update the integration.
From the screenshot above, the poster is using the interactive set up instead of the list. But either way, you need to do this because that wonβt have any effect:
Because I only have about 25 Lutron devices, I ended up deleting all the integrations, consolidated to one and named items appropriately upon creation. This got around the issues I was having.
I may not be recalling correctly, but I thought I was able to change these device names after they were created.
You can; you just need to do it the way above. Removing and reinstalling the integration was not necessary, although you may have wanted to do that anyway if it was originally done in the unusual way I suspected (but without answers to any of the questions above, it's hard to say more).
