Beginning the setup process. Purchased this around Thanksgiving on amazon (c8-Por) and starting the setup now. I can find the hub on the network, when I try to connect it times out. Power is good, led is green, it responds to pings, I am on the same network as the hub. Have reset it using the button on the bottom. Same result. Also it does not respond using port 8081.
If you can ping the IP of the hub from your wireless device, I would think it would connect as well. Just the IP of the hub in the url bar is all I need to get to my hub.
It is hard to believe 8080 is being blocked between ethernet and wireless, being a normally open port. Have you tried a computer connected with an ethernet cable to the router, to see if that works?
Find the IP of the hub ...
then put : http://IP_OF_HUB < http://192.168.50.126
That should get you the the main page.
best to use a home computer or a large pad.
It tells us that your hub is not connected to Hubitat's cloud. And is not advertising an mDNS address on your local ethernet network.
Do you mind sharing what type of router you have (brand/model)? Also, do you have a computer connected to your LAN from which you can get a printout of the current ARP table?
Specifically, can you post the output of this command:
arp -an | grep 34:e1
This would work on OS X or Linux/Unix. Perhaps someone can post the equivalent for a Windows PC?
I am also raising your community user privileges so you can post images/screenshots and sent PMs (if necessary).
Is there any VPN software running on your wireless computer? If so, have you excluded your local LAN from the VPN?
Ethernet was the answer to the problem....
To answer your question (just in case) the hub showed up in my ethernet switching table.
It had no problem accessing the Habitat cloud.
My network is based on Juniper Networks EX Switches, SRX300 Series Secure Routers and Mist Wireless. They are outstanding
