Color animations - slow hub response

Hi,

Looking for some advice...

I have a recently upgraded my hub to a C8 pro running the latest firmware (2.3.9.196)with a number of RGBW strip lights controlled via numerous Fibaro RGBW2 controller.

Historically I have only used these strips in a static fashion. Turn the device on, select the color annd leave it on for a couple of hours.

I am now interested in making some of these strips more interesting and have explored the inbuilt colour animation app with the following animation controlling three different controllers:

Since upgrading my hub and introducing these changes I am now noticing that my contact sensors seem to be sporadically missing trigger events. Is it possible that I am overloading my zwave network with the above animation?

If so is there a way to achieve the desired outcome without completely changing my hardware but without over stretching the hub. Ideally I would like the option to turn the animation on by a single switch hence why I was drawn to the inbuilt colour animation app.

For what its worth I have looked at the Hue Garden App written by @kahn-hubitat but only seems to allow 4 custom colours. I also looking at the holiday lighting app and it doesn't seem to offer the single switch control that I am looking for.

Additionally I assume the way the strips are being controlled is the same and therefore would end up with the same hub loading issue.

I guess I am asking whether there is a way to achieve the animation without increasing hub load.

Sorry for the vague post but somewhat disappointed with the fact that I seem to have poor hub performance since upgrading and adding what seems to be quite a trivial lighting control upgrade

lastest version of my app has 4 custom colors but also 5 named (pick color from a list) colors with many choices and about 20 inbuilt colors..

Thanks @kahn-hubitat.

Is your app likely to reduce the load on the hub for a given sequence. In my mind if your app and the inbuilt app produce the same output then the commands going to to the devices will also be the same.

The reason I ask is because when I am using the inbuilt app I am definitely missing events from contact sensors when the animation is running. I am happy to switch over to your app (great work btw) but if this will also mean that I will miss events from contact sensor then the animations will have to be abandoned as the sensor status is more important to me.

It still seems strange to me that this what seems like a relatively simple animation seems to load the hub enough that it misses these sensor events.

depends how the inbuilt was implemented.. definately if you are trying fading on many devices it can overwhelm.. mine you can fade or not fade. so not sure without you trying.
