Cloud Restore

I am attempting a full cloud restore from C8 Pro to a new C8 Pro. Consider the old C8 Pro gone, forever. I don't have it anymore, it's a long story. I'm just glad that I had purchased Hub Protect.

The issue is that when I try to restore it says I need to update the ZWave firmware on the new HE before the restore can continue and takes me to the ZWave details page. There is no button to update ZWave firmware on that page which should mean no update is available. I am 99 percent sure the old C8 Pro was using legacy ZWave.
Any help to get me back up and running?

Check the latest f/w release notes for a blurb about the ZW update(r) being pulled, presumably due to some reported issues:

OK, yes I see that now thank you. With that removed, can someone help me continue a cloud restore?

Have you updated the new C8 pro to the most current release, 2.4.4.132?

yes

Well, I thought that might be the ticket.

How long ago did you make the cloud backup of the MIA C8-pro? Do you remember what platform version it was based on?

I believe its about 2 weeks old and one version older than the new C8. When you say it like that it does seem kinda obvious but I guess I just assumed it would work all that out on it's own.

Roll back firmware to match my cloud backup?

Edit
New hub .132
Old hub .112

I haven't done this in a while. Do I need to get into the special boot menu to roll back firmware?

if you mean the diagnostic tool, then yes:

I'm fankly not sure how this may (or may not?) work w/the Z-Wave FW update removed after your cloud backup was completed on your original C8-Pro w/the newer Z-Wave firmware.

Tagging @support_team in case this is a special case...not sure.

That said, the roll-back of the new hub to .112 is worth trying.

ehhh I almost said it before but remained positive... Since this hub is new, there is no firmware to roll back too, just one from when it was manufactured. 2.4.2.160

Is it possible to download the firmware I need and apply it without it already being installed at some point on this hub?

Shoot...no, AFAIK there's no way to choose a specific sub-version, you could only get the current release version (.132) which you already have. Sorry...blind alley there.

Time to wait for HE staff (or anyone smarter than me) to chime in on this.

I'm thinking when staff pulled the Z-wave firmware update, they missed a piece on the website that handles cloud restore, so the prompt to apply a ,now nonexsistant update, still persists?
PS- I'm just spitballing here, waiting for @bobbyD

I'll sit tight, hopefully some good news comes.

Until then, everyone in the house seems to appreciate all the smart home stuff much more now that it's offline. Before it was "silly" and something only I appreciated. Now they're asking me how they're supposed to use the lights, LOL, and every room has an inovelli dimmer. IDK, maybe push the switch if you need the lights?

Hi, just getting to see this now. Can you elaborate? A new FW version is coming out and I should update the new C8 to that FW? That will also allow me to update ZW FW?

Can you share an approximate release time for the new FW?

My new hub is probably not registered for beta, can you enroll my new hub (if that is necessary to get the latest)? I'll PM you the hub ID.

It was released about 6 hours ago.

Not beta, as @ogiewon noted, regular release.

Update your hub and retry your migration. Profit.

The new FW allowed me to update the ZW FW and restore all my devices from the Hub Protect cloud backup. I don't remember what Hub Protect costs but whatever it was, WELL worth it.

Thanks to everyone that helped, and thank you to Brian from Hubitat staff for such a fast fix in the new firmware, I don't think any other tech company would moved so fast for a single user having issues.
